tickle fest gone bad at lunch today.

that will happen when the 3 year old throws his head back in laughter and it collides with the corner of the table.

for the record,

i was not involved in this black eye incident either.

charlie might want to wear a hockey mask for the rest of the week...

just sayin'.

scene 1

got back from dropping charlie off for his drama kids dress rehearsal.

sam is all made up.

he showed me his best ballerina moves.

this is what happens when grandma comes.

scene 2

charlie stole the show with his performance today.

we knew they were doing a mystery under the big top production,

but he didn't let us know his lines or the story.

the entire show was a surprise.

he was a star.

proud mama moment.

scene 3

after an entire day going back & forth about going to the rays game...

they decided to go.

someone gave them their caught foul ball.

they ate their weight in cheeseburgers, dippin' dots, ice cream, and cotton candy.

they had fun with their grandparents.

making memories.

perfect finale.

today charlie's class had a parade at school where that had to dress up and give a short speech about things that are unique to florida.

he chose gatorade because it was invented at uf.

i showed him a picture of himself later and he said, "boy, am i orange."

yep.

nicklaus came from his class to watch the presentation.

sam was in a mood.

nicklaus gently took his hand a guided him over to sit with him.

they eventually ended up like this on the floor next to me.

sam totally relaxed, melted into nicklaus.

melts a mamma's heart i tell ya.

ignore the 2 year old's hand...we're working on it.

favorite field trip ever!

love the mote boat in first grade.

we caught a puffer fish.

touched a jelly fish.

watched dolphins "dance" in the bay.

the lighting was perfect.

a day with just pickle,

watching him interact with his people,

asking relevant questions,

not too cool to be with mom.

 

 

last year while playing chase he fell and hit his head on the corner of a concrete platform.

to make matters worse, the kid chasing him fell on top of his head for a double whammy.

today, he collided heads with a friend on the playground.

the shiner was almost immediate.

it should be nice and ripe in a few days.

just in time for this year's pictures.
