wasn't exactly beach weather.

not that we minded much today.

we had breakfast at the bean.

got in a little shopping at happy jacks.

then to the rec center for putt putt, baseball, & foosball.

lunch from dave's.

then home to chill.

perfect day to do the things we love...

without sacrificing any lake time.

 

at veteran's park

with full bellies

from a picnic dinner

searching for the perfect stones

to see show many skips we can get.

they sat just like that.

at the end of the dock.

for about 30 minutes.

chatting.

watching the boats.

counting ducks.

enjoying each other.

 

 

 
technically they are red efts...

teen-aged newts.

the crew caught 24 of them today.

carried them around in a black bucket.

guess it was too crowded.

when i came up from the cabin they had transformed the wheelbarrow into the newt pool.

they added rocks for islands so they could rest.

leaves so they could float.

grass clippings for snacks.

if an eft tried to climb up the side,

someone would pick it up and plop it on a leaf or rock.

it kept them amused for about 30 minutes.

then i had them pluck out the efts and put them back in the rocks.

we cleaned up the wheelbarrow pool.

now they will something to search for tomorrow.

1 nephew from georgia.

2 nieces from texas.

3 of our own.

rainy day.

crafts.

mr. popper's penguins.

playing outside like a bunch of crazies in a pop up rain shower.

wouldn't have it any other way.
