cuties

not my boys for once.

little clementine oranges that are in season this time of year.

we go though at least 3 crates a week.

it is a self-sufficient snack.

the boys can peel them for themselves.

they are readily available on the counter.

perfect sweetness.

no seeds except for the random one here or there.

it is a sad day when we can't find them in the publix.

except of the promise of not finding anymore random peels scattered throughout the house...

sad.

monday

DSC_0204
this is how big gets to spend an hour of his day every monday.

he and his classmates walk to the special needs school next door.

they play with the kids.

it is therapy for everyone involved.

in the beginning of the year everyone is a little skittish...

unfamiliar with their environment.

something new and different.

what i experienced today would make all of their momma's proud.

hand holding.

leading the kids from activity to activity.

showing them new concepts.

playing the same games over and over again.

all smiles.

everyone engaged.

they introduced me to their kids like they had known them for years.

told me if they were shy or how to get them to laugh.

i will be going back.

i might leave my camera at home...

so i can play too.

perch

most sought after seat in the house.

here you can see the tv...

and the person playing the ipad on the couch.

never mind that the couch seats 4 comfortably.

gaming

DSC_0102

we actually opened the games we got for christmas this year.

usually we put them in the game cabinet during the christmas cleanup.

there they sit.

out of sight...

out of mind.

we got goods ones.

so i left them out.

othello.

mastermind.

creationary.

to name a few.

it has been great when we have some time before bed or on a lazy saturday afternoon.

everyone has their favorites.

i just like the unplugged time with my boys.

the kind of gaming i prefer.

please excuse charlie's fingernails...

ditch digging was this morning's activity.

safety first

DSC_4271

this is how we took our walk tonight.

he did let go to observe an ant.

he needed a break to skip, run, and shake his booty.

no stick or branch was left alone.

but he always came back to hold my hand...

so i wouldn't walk in the street.
