that's how long we have to wait.
hopefully a strawberlay plant will sprout from one of the six seeds planted.
someone will be very disappointed if it doesn't.
keeping our fingers crossed.

he has a slight infatuation with the movie tangled right now.
when he is allowed to watch...
that is what he wants.
we know all the songs and words.
he will randomly say a line from the movie.
tonight to ashley...
s~you had better apologize
a~for what?
she was just putting fruit in a bowl for him.
s~ no. it is just a line from my movie.
he walks out on the scary part or asks us to forward the scene.
he is good about stopping it if we have to leave.
no one more minutes, in a sec or whining.
he just pushes pause and picks up where he left off when he comes back...
like he never left.

anybody want jello for snack?
cns~i do!
c~how do you it eat?
n~you lick it.
no guys, with a spoon.
cns~ ohhh.
n~it's jiggly
c~ touch it with your finger.
n~that is so cool.
n~did you hear that sound?
c~the spoon bounces off of it.
s~whoops! it slid out.
you have to scoop it.
cns~ohhhh.
giggling, laughing, smiles, and genuine curiosty at the lime jello.
it was slurped.
stirred.
inhaled.
we had it a lot growing up for dessert.
switching up the flavors.
so easy to make.
forgot the joy it could bring.

his day started with a birthday wishes from his boys at breakfast then a dedication on the radio.
i knew it was coming so i had my memo recorder ready.
he listened to it the rest of the morning.

next up,
birthday donuts with his class.
complete with plates, hats, and most excitedly....cups.

an edible bouquet arrived after lunch from grandma and grandpa.
he enjoyed a few pieces before nap but insisted we save the rest for his party.

birthday dinner of mac and cheese and green beans with the parks, michelle and cade.
we threw some chicken and salad in there for the adults.
a present treasure hunt ensued.
then the special requested butter cake with fresh strawberry center and lemon frosting.

still not a fan of the flames but managed to blow out his own candle this year.
declared this was the best day ever before bed.
as it should be...
it was all about him.

he has had it on the brain since sunday.
had a hard time picking the color and flavor at the store.
so excited to make it before his nap.
couldn't wait until after dinner until he could eat it.
didn't want to eat what i made.
no eat dinner = no dessert.
i can just have it 'nother time...
when i yike what is for dinner.
no tears.
no drama.
cleaned up his plate and jumped in the tub.
at least he had fun making it.
