sarasota holiday parade tonight.

charlie marched in it for drama kids.

we cheered loud for him.

he was beaming...

so were we.

first parade we have been to outside of disney.

the kids loved it.

they kept time with the drummers.

waved to every group.

over the top excited when santa appeared at the end.

we sat with friends from church.

saw others we knew from school in the parade and crowd.

floats.

lights.

marching bands.

lots of merry christmas greetings.

let the holiday season begin!

 

it was drama mama papa today at drama kids.

in our case drama mama and the littles.

nicklaus took the class last year.

no balls were involved.

one year was enough.

charlie loves it.

lots of impromptu skits and create your own endings.

sam's a natural.

he loves the pretend play.

he sits and listens to the teacher's instructions.

in one skit we were collecting shells at the beach when a horrible storm came.

in another one we needed to fix a fence and create an ending.

sam's line was...what a mess!

he stole the show.

marine science club today.

we meet one friday a month.

learning about ocean life, coral reefs, boat safety.

leading up to the big sea camp trip in may.

i have been once before.

i chaperoned as a teacher.

he has too.

i was pregnant with him when i went.

he might get more out of it this time.

 

there are 4.

the biggest has been with us the longest...

since carnival 2010.

it lived in a measureing cup for 2 months with no food or fresh water.

i felt bad for it when it started getting black yuk on it.

a proper tank fixed that right up.

santa brought two more little ones for christmas 2010.

they were gone by the end of summer.

digested i think.

3 new ones from the carnival this year.

all still kicking.

the tank gets cleaned once every couple of months.

good thing they don't have to be walked.

om this morning.

homework this afternoon.

need to work ahead or the weeknights are chaos.

the no tv rule is lax on the weekend.

it takes him a little bit longer...

but at least it done.
