why not?

new year, new challenges! this little blog is hopefully going to help me see and remember what it is all about...my men. everyday, fingers crossed, i am going to try to post a picture about the  happenings of my little family. mundane or not, this is what it is all about!

finally!

nicklaus' top tooth fell out this morning before school. it has literally been loose since thanksgiving. he and sam were playing on the computer before school and it just dropped out of his mouth, no blood, no drama!

painted...not carved

DSC_6476

we can't really carve them until the day before or on halloween.

they get all moldy and gross.

so we get two.

one for painting...

the other for carving.

2 times the pumpkins...

two times the fun.

it actually felt like fall today.

perfect day to find the perfect pumpkin.

met the parks at the patch like we have done for 10 years.

everyone found a pumpkin except charlie.

he is a picky pumpkin picker.

usually by the third pumpkin patch we visit, he finds his.

 i found my perfect pumpkins...

3 to be exact.

worlds collide

DSC_6330
the last time i taught in a class,

he was with me,

in my belly.

this time i got to do what i love with the boy who made me a momma.

we were experimenting with physical and chemical changes.

my station had calcium chloride.

turns water warm when mixed.

loved spending the day with the kids.

seeing their faces when they felt the warm cup from the reaction.

kind of made me miss the classroom.

these were the teaching moments i loved.

the ah-has.

the love of learning.

the chatter of excitement.

i loved being there for him.

even though...

he wouldn't have lunch with me during his break and

sucked his cheeks in to stifle a smile when he saw me.

i got to teach, see the sparks, & be with my boy.

all of the joy with none of the paperwork...

anyday.

finally

...ashley let him have the remote.

his new favorite pastime.

he plays ma yee o cart while singing whatever song pops into the jukebox in his mind.

not whole songs,

just his favorite parts.

one after the other.

gimme a break mom!

his exact words to me while i was snapping his picture.

the bigs do not talk to their momma like that.

not real sure where he picks it up.

he might be more of a preteen than charlie...

he can certainly act like one.
