this week has been full of them.

anticipation for the relay.

excitement as we met our goals.

sorrow when remembering those we have lost.

i have been a wreck most of the week,

crying at the drop of a hat.

today was no different.

he walked every lap on a mission.

he pumped the team sign up and down.

he dressed for each theme every hour.

he was in pain.

his feet have no arches and after 2 hours, every step hurt.

but he wouldn't give up.

he said he was fine.

he would rest tomorrow.

he made it to 4:30 am.

after a 2 hour nap, i woke him for the sunrise lap.

he was exhausted.

he walked himself back to sleep 3/4 of the was around, so i put him in the van.

he never whined about the cold.

he never complained about the damp.

he ran around and had fun.

he knew why he was there.

for him it was to remember those who aren't any more.

overwhelming pride is the last emotion for me today.

i am proud of him for giving it his all and leaving it all out on the field.

he knew he could do it...

and he did.
