emotions

DSC_6302

this week has been full of them.

anticipation for the relay.

excitement as we met our goals.

sorrow when remembering those we have lost.

i have been a wreck most of the week,

crying at the drop of a hat.

today was no different.

he walked every lap on a mission.

he pumped the team sign up and down.

he dressed for each theme every hour.

he was in pain.

his feet have no arches and after 2 hours, every step hurt.

but he wouldn't give up.

he said he was fine.

he would rest tomorrow.

he made it to 4:30 am.

after a 2 hour nap, i woke him for the sunrise lap.

he was exhausted.

he walked himself back to sleep 3/4 of the was around, so i put him in the van.

he never whined about the cold.

he never complained about the damp.

he ran around and had fun.

he knew why he was there.

for him it was to remember those who aren't any more.

overwhelming pride is the last emotion for me today.

i am proud of him for giving it his all and leaving it all out on the field.

he knew he could do it...

and he did.

or my computer.

i don't know.

i do know i have tried for two hours.

it is time for bed.

if i can rescue them,

a pile of pelliots

got together with the parks tonight for a memorial day cook out.

there was plenty of pool time.

a dance party with coffee grinder lessons.

more desserts than you could shake a stick at.

no shortage on belly laughs and giggles.

prelude

this is sam's fwend aaron.

their bigs are buddies.

they moved to ny 18 months ago and broke everyone's hearts.

lucky for us though,

they are only 20 minutes away from our bolton abode.

we look forward to spending time together each summer.

special treat tonight...

they were in town for a wedding.

the boys were so excited to see each other.

they ate together.

looked for pirates on the golf course.

camped out in closets.

summer can't come soon enough.
