finally, the boy is three.

he woke up this morning so excited.

everytime anyone wished him a happy birthday today, he wished them one right back.

merry christmas greeting hang over, i guess.

we spent an hour at publix today picking out the things he wanted for his birthday dinner (eggs, pancakes, and bacon) as well as for the supplies we needed for his requested circle cake (peanut butter frosting with a milk chocolate center).

he has very specific demands for a 3 year old.

when it came time to blow out the candle, he was afraid of the flame.

he didn't want it to go up his nose.

so he enlisted his boys to help.

happy birthday you mickey mouse loving, spider man cape wearing, three year old!

went to the mall to see the bunny in their easter finest.

i stopped in a store to see if i could find something for myself.

we came out of the dressing room and sam noticed the mirrors.

immediately he started dancing and singing...

dance pawty.

over and over again.

shakin' his booty.

checking his reflection out in all of the mirrors.

this lasted about 5 minutes.

until someone mentioned chicken and french fries.

show over.

every place we visit, every place we go, is a party right now.

mommy, we had a party on mikey c's boat, 'member.

or

i liked the party with cooper at his beach.

or

i had fun at that walkin' party (our als walk on saturday)

or

that picnic party was fun yesterday...'member that one, mommy?

the one that did him in today was the party at grandpa with the boat and grandma monica's house.

he fished (caught the biggest one!)

he swam.

he listened to his tunes.

he cuddled with cousins.

he cried when he had to leave.

he crashed 10 minutes into our drive home...

resting up for tomorrow's party.

 

we look forward to our neighborhood's picnic every year.

it is always in april.

it might start out a little hot but always cools down beautifully.

they grill out hot dogs and hamburgers.

everyone else supplies the sides and desserts.

we hire an amazing face painter and spiderman.

he is so good with the kids.

the adults sit under the oaks and relax and eat.

spidey plays limbo, tug of war, water balloon toss, and three legged races with the kids. 

when spidey's time is up, we join in.

volleyball.

football.

wiffle ball.

corn hole.

it is always a fun night.

catching up with neighbors we don't see often,

meeting new ones,

and letting the littles run wild.

 

he's a natural.

miss molly is 3 months old.

he is 10 years old.

he coos at her.

he tickles her.

plays peek a boo.

but everything gently and soothing.

he has had practice with his two youngers but still...

it comes easy to him.

today, cooper wanted chayee to change him into his suit

and for chayee to hold him in the pool.

charlie just giggles and obliges.

he loves it.

he is good at it.

he's mine!
