down to the last few minutes of my boys' day again.

this is what he does all day long.

the others jockey for my iphone to play games.

he wants to listen to music.

not just kid music.

all music.

he has favorites in every genre.

he finds them by the album cover art.

he listens to the phone & the car music at the same time.

he can name songs from movies he has seen.

he can remember where he has heard a song before.

he taps his foot.

nods to the beat.

sings the words he knows...

makes up the rest.

if he hears a song with a good beat...

the dancing begins.

can shake his money maker like no other.

the entire 4th grade had to design an easter bonnet for a parade today.

sam didn't have one.

he's not in 4th grade.

so i improvised.

i dumped a bucket of calculators.

viola!

bonnet in his favorite color.

he stayed step for step with charlie.

smiling and giving high 5's to all of the kids.

he is the lakeview mascot.

we have got a crazy couple of days coming up.

the fun part is we will be in orlando with family and friends.

the craziness comes with having to have easter ready by tomorrow.

but we got this done today.

i am not afraid to admit i set up the egg dying in good lighting.

i got a lot of amazing shots.

it was therapeutic.

i was calm.

everyone had fun.

charlie was all about color mixing.

nicklaus wanted to know which color i liked best.

sam has no memory of dying eggs last year.

so when he heard we were coloring eggs at the table,

he gathered a bunch of crayons and markers and put them at each place setting.

when we asked him what they were for...

he said for coloring the eggs.

 

today he spent the day with judi and i at ikea.

he touched every fabric.

opened every drawer.

tapped bowls to see if they were plastic or glass.

picked out lots of napkins.

kept us entertained.

but his favorite part,

the one he remembers the fondest,

was lunch.

especially the chicken, french fries, & his favorite...

carrots.
