that is how many deer have been hanging out in our yard the past few days.

we didn't see that many in new york this summer.

the other three weren't in the shot.

today started much the same as yesterday...

plus the cape.

only 5 1/2 hours to drive.

until the flat tire.

delayed us for 3.

the hoodlums decorated a sign for us.

nicklaus was so excited to see everyone.

no one was home.

he loves odyseey of the mind.

we meet after school on mondays and occassionally on weekends from october to march.

his team has to write a script, create backgrounds,and props.

then they perform in front of judges against @ least 18 teams.

but this is his favorite part.

the thing he enthusiatically talks about all year.

the highly anticipated event that might have convinced connor to join our team...

omerfest.

the kids (hundreds of them) all gather on the high school's football field and have a swap meet.

one man's trash is another man's treasure.

he scouts out the treasures he wants and is ruthless until he gets it.

he will swap with anyone so they don't feel bad.

often at the end, he will give the rest of the things he doesn't really want to someone who doesn't have a lot.

we placed 4th.

not good enough to go to state.

but good enough to wet the appetite for another year.

"i wonder what we will do next year" was heard as we were leaving the stadium.
